JW Chat: A Social Network App for Jehovah’s Witnesses
JW Chat is a mobile application designed to bring Jehovah’s Witnesses together in a safe online environment where they can share experiences and connect with each other. Created by Narrow, this social network app has implemented a strict verification process to build a JW verified community. After downloading and creating an account, all applications are reviewed manually, and approved users can benefit from the features below.
The Engage feature allows users to create posts, reply to posts, upvote or downvote a post, and post an image with or without text. The Personal Profile feature allows users to upload a profile photo, view their personal profile score, and access their historical posts. The New Tab and Popular Tab features organize posts by visibility, with new posts appearing in the ‘NEW’ tab and remaining visible for 5 days. Posts with high engagement get moved to the ‘POPULAR’ tab and are visible for 30 days. Users receive notifications when they receive an upvote, a reply to their post, a direct message, or when their next post is available (one post per day).
JW Chat also offers Direct Messaging, Flagging, Blocking, and Reporting options, as well as ongoing support through email or their Instagram page. Note that JW Chat is built by witnesses but is not an official application from the ‘Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society’.
